Grandparents/Special Friends Day is scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2019.  This is a day for our children to share with grandparents, aunts, uncles, or other special adults in their lives.  We will celebrate mass at 10:00 AM in the School Chapel.  Visitors for Nursery and Pre-K classes will go to a classroom activity before mass.  Visitors for grades K through 5 will go to classroom activities after mass. 

Because of when the Easter/Passover holiday falls, bus transportation requests are due to your home public school district on or before Thursday, March 29. Some districts have denied requests made after the deadline. They may require that you have a form filled out in our office, so don't delay.

Bring in $1 on Tuesday, March 21, and wear blue and yellow AND mismatched socks in support of World Down Syndrome Day. The date 3/21 is special and represents how people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome instead of two.

On Monday, February 4, bring in a can or box of soup for the Parish Outreach Food Pantry, and wear your favorite sports jersey to school. Sponsored by Student Council.

On Tuesday, March 26, treat yourselves to frozen yogurt at 16 Handles at 22 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho. Make sure you mention St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope School and 16% of your check will be donated to our school. The offer is from 7 until 10:00 pm.

The Chess Nuts spring 2019 program begins for children in grades 1 through 8 on Wednesday mornings from 8 until 8:50 on April 3.  Please download the attachment for more information and to register for the program.  

St. Brigid's Parish is having a Blood Drive on Thursday, May 25 between 3 and 9 pm in Monsignor Code Auditorium.  A parent, grandparent or guardian that donates blood will receive 2 NUT cards and will be entered in a raffle for one FREE week of StB/OLH Summer Camp.  Call or text Joanna Palumbo at 516-652-0123 to sign up.  More information can be found on this attachment.

Join us Friday, June 1 between 6 and 8:30 pm at the Carle Place Barnes & Noble for our Book Fair. Get your books for summer reading and shop for dads & grads! Members of the Chorus and Drama Club will be performing. A percentage of all sales will be donated to our school. Can’t attend? Classes are forming for our Toddler Program for 18 month olds and the Toddler Plus/Pre-Nursery Program for 24 month olds.  Please see the attachment for details.  

Plans are under way for our fall Middle School Trip.  This year we will be returning to Philadelphia on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20.  All students in grades 6, 7 and 8 are invited to attend.  We will spend the first day at the Franklin Institute, a science museum dedicated to Ben Franklin.  We will visit the National Constitution Center on our second day, and take a walking tour of historic Philadelphia, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Christ Church, and Franklin's Gravesite.  Parent/guardian chaperones are most welcome to attend based on availability on the buses.  Chaperones must have attended a VIRTUS training session.  

The next family event during Catholic Schools Week is Family Fun Night on Thursday, January 31. 

Middle School students are invited to our annual St. Valentine's Dance.  The dance takes place on Thursday, February 15 from 7 until 9:30 pm in Monsignor Code Auditorium.  Tickets are available in the school office for $6.00.  Snacks and drinks are provided by your class parents.  

Our Annual Christmas Concert & Pageant takes place on Thursday, December 14 beginning at 7:30 pm in Monsignor Code Auditorium. Children in grades 3 through 8 in Experienced Band, Chorus and Drama Club will perform. Students in grades 3 through 5 have been practicing songs for the Pageant and have been invited to dress as shepherds or angels. All are invited to attend.
